Several state insurance departments have announced changes.  The details are listed below.

NEW JERSEY
Effective August 1, 2010, the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance will no longer print and mail licenses to insurance producers and public adjusters. Insurance producers and public adjusters will be able to print licenses, free of charge, via State Based Systems (“SBS”) Connect.  Information regardingfree registration to this service is available on the Department’s website, www.njdobi.org, in the “Just for Producers” area.

OHIO
The Ohio Department of Insurance is in the process of changing email addresses for all ODI employees. The new email addresses will be in the format of firstname.lastname@insurance.ohio.gov. The old email addresses will remain active for several months.  Please update your records to reflect the new email address format.

WISCONSIN
Beginning on July 6, 2010, all resident candidates will be required to submit electronic fingerprints. As a result of this, Pearson VUE will NOT be able to test during the period of June 26-July 5, 2010. Candidates will be able to call and make reservations during this time, but the first date of availability will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010.

A candidate can elect to be fingerprinted on the day of their examination, prior to the examination, or subsequent to the examination.

 Cost:  The total price is $52.25 (this includes the previous $18 charge for the state check that is also required).  Candidates who tested before July 6, who are required to retake the examination are required to pay the fee.  Candidates are required to pay this fee at the time of examination reservation.  Acceptable forms of payment are debit/credit card or electronic check. 

Fingerprints are valid up to 180 days from the date that the fingerprints are completed. Persons who are required to test beyond the 180 days would be required to submit another fingerprint and pay another fee.

The FBI will ask candidates to answer the following questions:

  1. Full Legal Name
  2. Reason for Fingerprints (Wisconsin Insurance)
  3. Full Current Address
  4. Date of Birth
  5. Gender
  6. Height
  7. Weight
  8. Hair Color
  9. Eye Color
  10. Ethnicity
  11. Place of Birth
  12. Citizenship
  13. Social Security Number
