Recently the North Carolina Department of Insurance discovered that many business entities had incorrect information listed in the NPN field.

Business entities doing business in North Carolina are required to have accurate information in the NPN field.

To use the NIPR renewal application, a business entity must identify its resident state and enter its resident state license number in order to properly access the license renewal application.

North Carolina resident business entities must list the NC license number (the business FEIN number) or the NPN in the NPN field.

All licensees are required to provide a valid email address as of January 1, 2010.  If a business entity failed to provide a valid email address its renewal notification was mailed via USPS instead.
