Insurance Licensing Update: South Dakota - Supportive Insurance Services

South Dakota reorganized the Department of Labor. On April 12, the Division of Insurance became part of the Department of Labor & Regulation (DLR). Insurance, banking and securities are just three of the areas merged into the new department. The Insurance Fraud Unit moved to the Attorney General’s Office.

Individuals may still access the Division of Insurance website at http://dlr.sd.gov/reg/insurance.

Many of the state websites will be changing over the next six months as all of the websites are integrated into the DLR website.

Secretary Pam Robers is the head of the DLR. Director of Insurance, Sheiber, remains Director of the Division of Insurance.
