Insurance departments across the country have been affected by the economy and legislative budget cuts.  Two more  states announce changes due to budget cuts.

OREGON

The Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services (including the Insurance Division) will close several Fridays during the current two-year budget period due to budget cuts. Online services will be available on the closure dates even though the Division will be closed.

The anticipated dates for office closings are:

  • August 20, 2010
  • September 17, 2010
  • November 26, 2010
  • March 18, 2011
  • May 20, 2011.

UTAH

Effect July 1, 2010, the Utah Insurance Department will send the majority of their rulemaking and bulletin notices electronically rather than in the mail.

 To receive notices of proposed changes to department rules and bulletins go to the URL http://insurance.utah.gov/legalresources/rules.html under the heading, “List of Current Rules.”
