Iowa producer appointment renewals and fees are due on or before March 1.  Failure to pay renewal appointment fees by March 15 will result in termination of a company’s appointments. Appointments terminated due to nonpayment of renewal fees may be reinstated upon payment of the renewal fee plus a reinstatement fee of $500.

Insurance companies are required to file the name, address, and electronic address of the company’s contact person.  This Division will send the appointment renewals to the contact person.  If a company fails to notify the Division of an address change, the insurance company will be charged a $100 fee.

Around January 2 of each year, a list of the producers currently appointed and a billing statement will be provided to each insurance company via the NIPR Gateway. The billing statement may not be altered, amended or used for appointing or terminating producers.

Iowa appointment renewal fees are Retaliatory to the state of domicile of the insurance company. If the company is in a state that does not charge an appointment renewal fee go to www.nipr.com to view the listing of producers and pay the NIPR processing fee (based on the number of appointment renewals listed on the invoice).
