Effective June 27, 2011, California resident agents and brokers must complete a homeowners’ insurance valuation training in addition to the agents and brokers’ continuing education requirements.
To locate a California Department of Insurance approved homeowners’ insurance valuation training course, go to https://interactive.web.insurance.ca.gov/providercourselookup/index.jsp and select either the license type ‘Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent’ or ‘Personal Lines Broker-Agent’. Next, select ‘Continuing Education’ for the education type. Then select the course under the category type.
