The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has identified 2,230 Ohio licensees who owe the state of Ohio outstanding federal, state, or local income tax, state or local sales tax, or worker’s compensation premiums.

During the next 18 months, the Ohio Insurance Department will review renewal applications to make sure agents are in compliance with personal taxes and worker’s compensation premium payments.

Agents who are not in compliance should contact the Ohio Attorney General’s Office by calling 614-752-8981 or the Ohio Department of Insurance Enforcement Division at 614-644-2560 for assistance.

Administrative action will be taken against those agents who fail to comply.
