Effective January 1, 2011, the North Carolina Department of Insurance will impose a fine of $50 for failure to provide an email address in 2011.  The Department will primarily be using the business email address field.  Licensees should enter either their personal or business email address in the business email address field.

NOTE:  The only way to verify the email address on file with the Department is to subscribe to the Online Licensee Services (OLS) through the NAIC.  The annual fee is $5.95.  The fee is paid to the NAIC and no fee goes to the Department.   The Department does not have the resources to verify email addresses via telephone inquiry.
